Request Support

REQUESTS ARE NOT ALWAYS REVIEWED IMMEDIATELY UPON RECEIPT. DOES THE CHILD/REN REQUIRE IMMEDIATE PROTECTION?

IF YES – Call the 0345 603 7627 and ask for the CHILDREN & FAMILIES HUB PRIORITY LINE and/or contact:

Before making a Request for Support, have you considered:

  • Exploring the Directory of Services to identify local community based support the family?

  • Holding a Team Around the Family meeting and / or contacting your local Team Around the Family Support Officer  at TAFSO@essex.gov.uk?

If so, when completing a Request for support please ensure:

  • You have discussed with the family the reason for your Request for Support? Consent is required unless immediate safeguarding concerns are identified

  • You have considered how you are able to clearly identify current concerns / risk to the child / young person that would indicate the need for specialist (Family Solutions) or intensive support (involving Statutory process) being required for the family?

  • When completing the Request for Support Form the telephone contact details for the family are included.

Submitting the Request For Support Form (Essex)

Please make sure you print your completed form before you close the online request page.  Once the page is closed, you won’t be able to print it again.

Please remember to add a contact phone number for the family into the field "Child/rens Main address (including postcode and telephone numbers)".
